MADISON, Wis. - A fire alarm set off by smoke in the state Capitol caused an evacuation before firefighters located the source of the problem — a toaster and a singed muffin.
Gus had better be careful. This toaster is armed and dangerous (pardon, another inadvertent limb comment).

hhhhmmmm...is it just me, or does that toaster seem a lil....sinister? like right on par with the chucky doll?
just wonderin'.....
miz b, after 4 days of havin' the mcfinster brothers scrub the jacuzzi with everything i could think of, includin' lye soap (those tomato stains from the chili were just awful to remove) the jacuzzi is now sparklin' clean and ready to be plunged. otoh, perhaps now the mcfinster brothers won't be so quick to re-enact a moment from gus' blog. it can only be hoped.
snuggs of the joie de vivre
I should hope that no more re-enactments take place in the jackoozi. Good job it's the scrubbably kind and not the 20,000-pound hand-hewn cedar model they make in the whiftier parts of Northern California.
My congratulations on your joie-de-vivre, my dear snuggs. You seem to have quite a twinkle in your eye today.
Finally, I'm wondering if the toaster will accomodate bagels. There are two very nice gentlemen from New York laying over for a few days after some sort of adventure excursion who have expressed interest in lox and bagels for breakfast. To hear them talk, you'd think nobody of the Hebrew persuasion had ever dared venture out of the borough of Brooklyn before, other than that little 40 years' wandering in the desert long ago.
And where I shall find bagels in Bristol is anybody's guess. Must bash off to the shops.
