Objects On Map Appear Freakishly Large

The Tortolan Navy's dreadnought "HMS Pinafore" is pictured in this extremely detailed map; there is possibly a typographic error and that is Guava Island to the northeast of Tortola.

Quite possibly I'm barking mad, and Guava lies much farther to the S.S.E, however.

There's something fishy about this map, and I don't mean the little turtle in the boat; there's a Ginger Island, but there is no Mary Ann Island.

Oddly, there appears to be Salt & Peter Islands in the area - members of the Gentlemen's Card Club should be warned to stay well away from there.

Best of luck to Gus finding his way around looking for that B., nay even that D.H. whale (pardon, abbreviated language). Posted by Hello

*shakes up a batch of Tortolan Orangeades and dispense all around* lovely lil drink for brunch....

miz b, i know i had tuesday off for the weekly lec&ts meeting, but i need this evening off as well. our dear cap'n gus has charged me with discovering the meaning behind mo'fritterford's nefarious tortolan statutes. wading my way through all that parchment and all i can ascertain at this point is that is has something to do with rum, frangiapani exports and historical piracy. not one damm thing about whales or whaling.

mired in the stacks,

snuggs

That's quite all right, my good snuggs; we shall muddle through without you somehow. Anything in a good blubbery B. whale-killing, Gus-supporting cause is fine with the management. Don't fall asleep in the stacks looking up references - but if you run across anything to do with the dreaded c*pyr*ght statutes, tip me a wink.

As for me, the sun has been well over the yardarm for some time, and I'm long overdue for some refreshments or three.
